The Connecting Downpipe Shoe is used to transport water out of the downpipe, into a wastewater drain by the wall of the building. This prevents too much water accumulating by the building. Consider installing a leaf trap, or self-cleaning leaf trap, to prevent leaves and twigs getting into the surface water system.
