Climate SealTM Window Inserts
PART 1 GENERAL
- SECTION INCLUDES
- Climate SealTM acoustic and thermal window inserts and accessories for installation.

- SUBMITTALS
- Product Data: Manufacturer’s data sheet and installation instructions.
- Samples: Submit, at minimum, a 4” x 4” sample for each type of specified window insert.
- Test Reports: Upon request, submit certified test reports to verify specified product performance.
- QUALITY ASSURANCE
- Qualifications:
- Manufacturers: Provide window inserts from a single manufacturer.
- Installers: Utilize an installer having demonstrated experience on projects of comparable size and complexity.
- Performance Requirements:
- Acoustical Characteristics: Window inserts to perform as specified when tested in accordance with ASTM E90.
- DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
- Storage and Handling Requirements:
- Handle window inserts carefully to avoid any damage.
- Store window inserts indoors in a clean, cool, dry place, and out of direct sunlight.
- Store window inserts in a space where the ambient temperature and humidity conditions are being maintained at the levels indicated for the project when occupied for its intended use.
- SITE CONDITIONS
- Ambient Conditions:
- Maintain ambient temperature and humidity conditions at levels indicated for the project when occupied for its intended use.
- Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer’s recommended limits.
- Existing Conditions: Do not install window inserts until space is enclosed and weather proofed, and wet work is completely dry.
- WARRANTY
- Provide manufacturer’s written product warranty per Section 01 77 00 – Closeout Procedures.

PART 3 EXECUTION
- EXAMINATION
- Verification of Conditions:
- Examine openings, substrates, anchorage, and conditions.
- All wet work in the installation area must be complete, cured, and dry prior to installation.
- Wall assembly shall be complete, inspected, and accepted before window work begins.
- INSTALLATION
- Comply with manufacturer’s instructions and recommendations for installation of windows and with industry standards.
- CLEANING
- Clean surfaces of windows per manufacturer’s instructions or recommendations.
- Clean surfaces immediately after installing windows. Avoid damaging protective coatings and finishes.
- PROTECTION
- Protect installed work from damage due to subsequent construction activity, including temperature and humidity limitations and dust control, so that the work will be without damage and deterioration at the time of acceptance by the owner.
