QF Y Branch 90°

Nordfab manufactures ducting for use in dust, mist, and fume collection systems.

QF Y Branches are standard with QF rolled ends, allowing quick connections with other QF ductwork. Nordfab QF® duct branches in Y shape (sometimes called “true wyes”) are also available with 60º angle between legs.

  • When ordering, specify, specify material; gauge (if nonstandard); dimensions A, B, C; end styles if not all QF; and angle (90° shown below, 60° also available).
  • Both B & C each must be at least 50% of A, with B or C being at least 80% of the opposite leg.
  • Use the following formula to determine length: L = A + 4"
  • Available in galvanized steel and 304SS (as shown below) or optional 316SS or carbon steel
  • Available with flanged ends in diameters up to 72", and other various end types
  • Available with 60° angle
  • Optional gauges 18, 16, 14, 12 and 10
  • QF Y Branches are a Nordfab Now® product so items in the most commonly used sizes and material are in stock and can typically be shipped the day after order placement.

Specification
  • A. General Fabrication Requirements: Comply with SMACNA's "HVAC Duct Construction Standards - Metal and Flexible," Ch. 3, "Round, Oval, and Flexible Duct," based on indicated static-pressure class unless otherwise indicated.

    1. Construct ducts of galvanized sheet steel unless otherwise indicated. 304SS Optional.
    2. Basis-of-Design Product: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide Nordfab Ducting, LLC; Quick Fit (QF) Duct.

      B. Connection Joints: Joint types are fabricated in accordance with SMACNA's "HVAC Duct Construction Standards - Metal and Flexible," for static-pressure class, applicable sealing requirements, materials involved, duct-support intervals, and other provisions in SMACNA's "HVAC Duct Construction Standards - Metal and Flexible."

      1. Quick Fit Joints in Ducts 3 to 24 inches (76 to 510 mm) in diameter. Flange: Optional.
      2. Flanged Joints in All Ducts Greater than 24 inches (610 mm) in diameter.

      C. Longitudinal Seams: Seam types are fabricated in accordance with SMACNA's "HVAC Duct Construction Standards - Metal and Flexible," Figure 3-2, "Round Duct Longitudinal Seams," for static-pressure class, applicable sealing requirements, materials involved, duct-support intervals, and other provisions in SMACNA's "HVAC Duct Construction Standards - Metal and Flexible."

      1. Fabricated round ducts 3 to 24 inches (76 to 510 mm) in diameter to have laser-welded or plasma-welded longitudinal seams.
      2. Fabricated round ducts above 24 inches (610 mm) in diameter to have plasma-welded longitudinal seams.
