PRODUCT NAME:
CleanCote® Xylem®
Interior Wall & Ceiling Panels
OVERVIEW:
CleanCote® Xylem® is a composite panel for interior use made by laminating a textured aluminum skin to a substrate of douglas fir plywood. A fiberglass reinforced kraft/foil scrim backer is added for panel balance and acts as a moisture barrier. Panels are furnished with a strippable film on the painted surfaces to protect the finish during shipment and installation. CleanCote® Xylem® is attached to the substrate using construction adhesives in the field of the panel and mechanical fasteners around the perimeter. The system is completed using two piece (plastic receiver and extruded aluminum cover) moldings.
BASIC USES & APPLICATIONS:
CleanCote® Xylem® panels are designed to provide an easily maintained surface for various types of interior applications. A durable plywood core and a textured aluminum skin makes these panels ideal for use in pseudocleanrooms, laboratories, biotechnical pharmaceutical and medical facilities as well as any other application where durability and cleanliness are key concerns.
GENERAL LIMITATIONS:
CleanCote® Xylem® is intended for interior use as wall or ceiling panels only. Panels may not be installed as a structural element of a wall
assembly.
SYSTEM FINISHES:
CleanCote® Xylem® panels are offered with a textured, prefinished polyester coating. Standard color is white. Moldings are painted to match the panels using a polyester paint system and are also offered in the standard white.
INSTALLATION OVERVIEW
CONCEALED FASTENERS:
CleanCote® Xylem® offers a nonprogressive attachment system utilizing two piece (plastic receiver and aluminum cover) extruded moldings. First, the plastic receiver is fastened to the substrate (or studs) and then covered with the edge of the panel. The panels are then mechanically fastened to the substrate around the perimeter and attached in the field of the panel using construction adhesive. After approved sealant is applied, the joint is completed using aluminum snap-on covers.
