Designed for exterior basement walls, RAVATHERM™ XPS DI300 provides insulation, protects the waterproofing membrane and assists water drainage away from the foundation. RAVATHERM™ XPS DI300 is a blue extruded polystyrene foam insulation with dovetail grooves on one face, covered with filter fleece. The insulation boards have thermal and mechanical qualities, with proven durability to withstand continuous exposure to moisture, rising groundwater, mechanical stresses and freeze-thaw cycles.
Thanks to its closed cell structure, RAVATHERM™ XPS DI300 has many unique properties and therefore can be used in various applications:
-permanently high thermal insulation value
-water and frost resistance
-high compressive strength
-high rigidity
-high vapor diffusion resistance
-high drainage capacity
RAVATHERM™ XPS DI300 combines three functions:
-waterproofing protection
-insulation
-vertical drainage
RAVATHERM™ XPS DI300 is manufactured by an extrusion process. The material has a homogeneous, closed-cell structure and a smooth skin (extrusion skin), which offers unique advantages:
-permanently high thermal insulation value
-negligible moisture absorption
-high compressive strength and stiffness
-dimensionally stable
-does not rot and does not promote mold growth
-quick and easy installation
-high drainage capacity
The filter fleece serves as a filter layer for the water that is drained through the longitudinal grooves of the RAVATHERM™ XPS DI300. The geotextile is 10 cm longer on one short and one long side, in such a way that the geotextile overlaps each other when the boards are installed, thus ensuring a continuous surface. The application of the RAVATHERM™ XPS DI300 product meets the requirements of the German DIN 4095 standard for vertical drainage. According to the standard, a vertical drainage capacity (eg 3.00 m depth) of at least 0.3 ltr/s m is required. The discharge capacity of the RAVATHERM™ XPS DI300 plate is far above this: at 3.00 m depth above 1.00 ltr/s m, which is also verified by tests conducted by the FH Karlsruhe Institute of Hydraulic Structures. If a greater drainage capacity is required, the maximum drainage capacity must be checked at a certain depth.
